Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Elorah when you use the app or the website. They also include the subscription terms and the end user license for the app. Please read them.

Last updated August 7, 2026

In plain words
Elorah is a Bible companion and study aid. It supports scripture, it does not replace it.
Breakdowns and Council are AI generated and can be incomplete or wrong, so use judgment.
Elorah Plus is an auto renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID.
Your notes, highlights, and plans belong to you. You can leave and delete your data any time.
01

Your agreement with us

By downloading, opening, or using Elorah, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Elorah. When we say "we", "us", or "Elorah", we mean the team that builds and operates Elorah, and when we say "you", we mean the person using it.

02

Who can use Elorah

You may use Elorah if you are at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country. If you are under the age required to agree to these terms on your own, you may only use Elorah with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees on your behalf.

03

Your account

Some features need an account. We sign you in with a one time code sent to your email, so keep access to that email secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has gained access to it.

04

Your license to use Elorah

We give you a personal, limited, non exclusive, non transferable, and revocable license to use Elorah for your own scripture reading and study. This license is for your use of the app as offered, and it does not transfer any ownership of Elorah to you.

05

How you agree to use Elorah

To keep Elorah safe and working for everyone, you agree not to:

  • copy, resell, rent, or redistribute the app or its content, except as allowed by law
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract our source code, except where the law expressly allows it
  • interfere with, overload, or try to break our servers or security
  • use Elorah for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive
  • misrepresent the app as your own or remove our branding
06

Scripture, AI, and guidance

Elorah is a study companion. Breakdowns and Council are generated with the help of AI to explain passages in plain language and to help you think. They can be incomplete, oversimplified, or wrong, so please weigh them against scripture itself.

Elorah does not replace scripture, prayer, your church, or the wisdom of pastors, elders, and trusted people in your life. It is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice. If you are in crisis or need real help, please reach out to a qualified person or local service.

07

Your content belongs to you

The notes, highlights, reflections, and plans you create in Elorah are yours. To provide the service, you give us a limited license to store and process your content only as needed to run features you use, such as saving, backing up, and restoring it. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it for advertising.

08

Free features and Elorah Plus

Core features of Elorah are free. Elorah Plus is a paid subscription that unlocks additional features. The exact list of Plus features may change over time as we add and refine them. What is included is shown in the app before you subscribe.

09

Subscriptions and billing

Elorah Plus is offered as an auto renewing subscription, available on a monthly and an annual plan. The price and billing period are shown in the app at the time of purchase.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price for your plan.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.
  • If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription that covers that period.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. We generally cannot grant refunds directly.

If we change subscription prices, we will apply the change in line with the App Store rules, which ask for your consent before a higher price takes effect where required.

10

Our intellectual property

The Elorah name, logo, design, and the app itself are owned by us and protected by law. These terms do not give you the right to use our branding without our permission.

Bible text and translations belong to their respective publishers and rights holders. Some translations may need to open in another Bible app, or may be limited, depending on their licensing.

11

Third party services

Elorah relies on services from others, including Apple, RevenueCat, AI model providers, and our hosting providers. Your use of those services through Elorah is also subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third party services we do not control.

12

Disclaimers

Elorah is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the app will always be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, or that AI generated content will be accurate or complete.

13

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Elorah and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Elorah in the twelve months before the claim, or the minimum the law allows.

14

Your responsibility

You agree to cover us for reasonable claims and costs that arise from your misuse of Elorah or your breach of these terms, to the extent allowed by law.

15

Suspension and ending your use

You can stop using Elorah at any time and delete your account and data from within the app. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or where we must do so to protect Elorah or other people. Terms that should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability, continue to apply after your use ends.

16

Changes to Elorah and to these terms

We may update Elorah and these terms as the app grows. When we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and give clearer notice for material changes. If you keep using Elorah after an update, you accept the new terms.

17

Governing law

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the place where Elorah operates, without regard to conflict of law rules, and except where the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you stronger rights that cannot be waived.

18

Additional terms for the Apple App Store

When you use Elorah on an Apple device, the following terms also apply. They are required by Apple and sit alongside everything above.

  • This agreement is between you and Elorah only, not with Apple. Elorah, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app does not conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price to you. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Elorah, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims from you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability, failure to meet a legal requirement, and consumer protection claims.
  • Elorah, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or listed as a prohibited or restricted party, and that you will comply with applicable export laws.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
  • You must also comply with any applicable third party terms and the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions when using the app.
